Hello Again IÕm back after serving Jury Duty. Well, letÕs get down to business. First many thanks to Michelle Kawamoto for inviting me to the meeting between the City Of Hope and the BMI group so I could learn how to sponsor charity events. Anyone who wanting to help or donate services, locations and/or goods for auction and/or raffles from which the proceeds are to go the City Of Hope in connection with the IGNEOUS ROCK CONCERTS FOR CHARITY Sponsored in connection with Rock City News please contact Michelle Kawamoto @ City Of Hope (213) 202 5735 ext.6193 for verification! Then contact me at (818) 895-8542 or e-mail GMSVIDEO@aol.com and leave your info to be organized. Please do not call Rock City News about this as RCN is has their hands full as it is. Rock City News Needs Serious Interns to Volunteer, I Know, I am an Intern and I need your help organizing the RCN Record Company here in the office and out in the field. We are taking submissions for the 3rd RCN CD compilation! Check out www.ZREALM.COM/IGNEOSROCK.htm

It was Thu. Jan 6th When I saw James Prader doing his thing, RUNNING WITH SCISSORS at the Key Club. If you think that sounds dangerous, youÕre right because James is either going to get his message across or he is going to have a stroke for the effort. Bathed in sweat by the end of his second song, he is a study in how to put your heart and soul into a performance with a band to match, behind him all the way. IÕve seen his show three times, one of which was dedicated to collecting Toys For Tots at the Dragonfly before Christmas, and James delivered every time! WILD CHILD the Doors Tribute Band Followed with the audience crowding the stage filling the pit and the women fixated in a trance and thereÕs Bad Betty right up front showing everyone how to dance. I hated to drag myself away but since.... I was on my way to the House Of Blues to see my friend Greg Piper of the original rock band Tooners, also known as Womanizer, performing as George Harrison in Beatle tribute band REVOLUTION along with his brother Tim Piper I was in heaven. REVOLUTION is without a doubt the best Beatle tribute band goin, my condolences to the others, but I know what I like and with the House Packed to the limit so did everyone else, the energy was awesome and the performance incredible! My HatÕs off to the House Of Blues for knowing whatÕs what. And thatÕs the way it was Jan 6th 2000. Fri. Jan 7th... Well, no thanks to the sound system at PaladinoÕs as I had to rent an outside system at the last second to put on a decent show, we got started so late that BENIGN got axed, I am so sorry Jeremy, Freddy, Louie and Matt (not Mac) I hope I can make it up to you! Needless to say I canceled my two day Birthday Shows at, what was their name again? Oh well at least KENO opened up at 10:10 giving a great show to the crowd who waited so patiently for the late start and I am happy to say KENO! KENO! KENO! This clean cut short haired unassuming group has one great alternative sound you wonÕt believe till you see them with your own eyes and you should make and take the time to see them along with RUNNING WITH SCISSORS opening up for Blue Oyster Cult at the Key Club in Feb 2000 keep your eyes peeled and donÕt miss this show if it isnÕt already sold out! NYC took control of the stage next as the perfect compliment to a show that was almost too hot to handle. NYCÕs show is, was and continues to be on fire, I wouldnÕt get to close with those shots of booze. At the rate NYC is going I wonÕt be surprised if they spontaneously combust. Tommy Bolan chided me for calling it his band, he said NYC is the band... NYC is the purpose... NYC is the future ... and I agree, you better see them while you can before some savvy record company signs them to a world tour these NYC boys are HOT HOT HOT. Thanks to Sound Man Matrix, whom I met at the Coconut Teaszer during RCNÕs CD Release party. Not only did he save my show by having the killer sound system to Import last minute but he is responsible for clueing me in about SUPERKILL who rounded out the best show IÕve had the pleasure of putting together. SUPERKILLÕs Tightrope balancing antics of the guitar/vocalist front man and backup vocals from the lead guitarist and the bass player with rock solid drumming laid the groundwork for the sound that has certain Old School Hollywood Power brokers very interested. There is nothing like a rock show where all the bands are impressed by each other. SUPERKILL is the name and a perfect description for this band. Thanks to Scott Kort, manager! Sat. Jan 15th@ McREDS I was happy to catch the radioactive music of HEAVY WATER again as they create a wave of the future, so jump on in the waterÕs fine, in fact things are starting to heat up. I also witnessed St. JAMES INFIRMIRY for the umpteenth time, the only difference was I was not tied to the mixing board and was able to sit back and bask in the incredible sultry vocals of the beautiful Billie D. St. James and ex-KINGDOM COMErs Danny StaggÕs world class guitar playing with J.B.FrankÕs precision bass and wonderful harmonies not to mention Michael Russo drumming to the heart of the rhythm.

Special Thanks to Annette Maria of BREATHER and her wonderful efforts at helping me with the Press releases and organizing of the Charities scene, Also thanks to Sam Aronson from the band IN NEED for his encouragement and moral support and interest in lending a hand. HEY CALLING ALL BANDS, check out WWW.ZREALM.COM...Take the Rock City News Train to RCN $250 will get you over a thousand dollars worth of service! send Scott an e-mail Zrealm3@aol.com and ask for details and demonstrations. DO IT NOW. DON NOT WAIT UNTIL SCOTT IS SO BUSY THAT THIS OFFER EXPIRES! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH! GO AHEAD AND SHOP AROUND YouÕll SEE YOU CANÕT BEAT THIS DEAL!!!. ItÕs not how much you take itÕs how much you give! Stand Up and be counted and for GodÕs sake register AND vote! LetÕs TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK! till next time, Ciao Bothers and Sisters.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM IGNEOUSROCK/CANEBOY AND ROCK CITYNEWS,, Sat 12-4 McREDS UPC is the best live progressive jazz rock IÕve seen in a long while. Possibly better known as STORMKRO when they have their lead singer this band is hot..... Knock on WOOD All the head bangers in the S. F. Valley will find their way to Canoga Park Bowl Royal Room on New YearÕs Eve to catch the humorous hard rock antics of the band ÓWOODÓ!!...... Monday 12-6 Y2KÕs B-Day Bash for their drummer Steve Smak @ The Blue Saloon... From Seattle, vocalist/keyÕs Michael Sherer (pronounced sheer) and Shawn (bass) on guitar opened up performing material from AFTER APRIL as a duet debut in the LA area. Michael has informed me that his old drummer from his Seattle band LOVE GONE BLACK will be joining them soon. The duo will be playing again Monday 12-20 @ The Blue Saloon. Michael is looking for a guitar player so Shawn Quinn can get back on bass.... Happy Birthday Steve Smak and thank you Don Dunham(guitar/lead vocals)of the Y2K trio who with Mr. Vic (bass) threw a B-Day party, playing songs from their CD ÓThe Millennium BugÓ such as ÓEverybody Wants YouÓ, ÓLoveÓ, ÓRestless HeartÓ and the title track...... M. I. T. H. who are working on a CD at Finishline Studio rocked the house with songs like ÓConcubineÓ, ÓJonesettaÓ, ÓBloody SongÓ and ÓCheap TransitionÓ. EVERYBODY COME SEE MISSION IN THE HILLS MONDAY 12-27 @ THE BLUE SALOON...... Michael RussoÕs Strawberry Jam included requests from the crowd, some of who jumped up on stage to sing along, heck I even hobbled up on stage to join in on the fun..... Fri Dec 10th @ McREDS, Neil was down with the flu and I had the pleasure of filling in as soundman.....BACK ALLEY opened up with some jazzy soft rock......MICHAEL JACQUES BAND cranked out a heavy set with his classic rock stylings.......Last time I saw Jeff KraftÕs HEAVY WATER play was at WOODLEYSTOCK last August and IÕm happy to say they are twice as good now. Good Job guys......CANNON fired off a great set but I lost my notes and canÕt do them justice. Where are you playing next? Call Me......818 895-8542 HELLCATS delivered a ferocious set of animated rock. These guys are serious and are prepared to scratch and claw their way to the top..... DonÕt worry be happy..... Which reminds me....... A couple of months ago I saw the WORRYBEADS at the GIG on Melrose and thought they were great. Veteran Mark Knight (guitar/vocals) Bruce Nelson (guitar/bkup vocals) took me back to the good southern rock days. John Grimmett (bass) and Tigg Ketler (drums) are the perfect compliment for the WORRYBEADS who are intent on Óbringing real Rock nÕ Roll back to lifeÓ. Sat Dec 11th @ McREDS again....... The SHAMUS TWINS opened up the night playing their feel good pop rock with crisp harmonies..... KENO - GREAT BAND ALERT - KENO!! Great dynamics by a tight power trio with two tremendous vocalists that harmonize, get my highest recommendation yet. IÕm not the only one who thinks they are good as KENO will be opening for Blue Oyster Cult in Feb.(keyclub?)...... I immediately booked KENO for the Jan 7th show 10 pm at PaladinoÕs @ 6101 Reseda, Tarzana $5 cover just N. of Oxnard along with Tommy BolanÕs N.Y.C at 11 and Jeremy SandeenÕs BENIGN at nine..... Talking about BENIGN, with Freddy on lead guitar and Mac on bass and both doing bkup vocals with Louie Fidel on drums and Jeremy playing rhythm and leading the singing with a very intense and powerful not quite punk rock style. The nonstop punchy and energetic lyric delivery was impressive, you might say Jeremy has the gift of gab. He was soaked to the bone when I talked to him after his show and the first thing you notice is his friendly outgoing manner in contrast to his performance and irascible smile that could cheer the most morose sad sack......
