FROM: ROCK CITY NEWS, LOS ANGELES, VOL 17, NO 26

THEYÕRE BACK......: ThereÕs a new band on the scene. TheyÕre called FLAMBOOKEY. Now before you jump all over Prince of DarknessÕ case and say ÓWhat an idiot, Flambookey has been around for years,Ó He has this to say - know your role and shut your mouth. Although the name is the same, 3 of 4 original members are intact and the groove is still there this is a brand new machine. Their recent Troubadour show was evidence of this transformation.
The obvious difference is new vocalist Jeremy. An aggressive, take charge performer, he adds fuel to the fire that is the rest of the band. Guitarist Stick has developed a confidence on stage that opens things up for what P of D has long thought is the best rythhm section on the scene in Jonny B. and Joey C. The set consisted entirely of new material which is heavier and reveals maturity in the songwriting. ÓEyes Wide Open,Ó ÓGraspÓ and ÓFreeÓ retain the infectious energy and vibe of the old Flambookey but knock you on your ass as well. The System-ish ÓAll For The CountryÓ closed things out and made it clear that Flambookey are a force to be reckoned with....again.
QUICKNOTES: Speaking of Flambookey, a must see show is taking place at the Troubadour Saturday night January 15 featuring them, THE APEX THEORY and PRIZEFIGHTER. That show will be a hangover cure for the night before, January 14 at the Whisky where MUGG, 20 DEAD FLOWER CHILDREN and DROID do what they do so well - fuck shit up.....Speaking of 20 Dead (funny how this all blends together), they have been signed to TVT, congrats. It was along time coming.......
ThatÕs all for now. Until next time......FEED!!!!!!

UNSTOPPABLE: Prince of Darkness amazes even Himself sometimes.

You see, He is lucky in the fact that He gets comp tickets and passes to concerts, sporting events and amusement parks due to the fact that He writes about them in these here pages. He also brings His own, shall we say, beverages into the shows as some of you know as you partake in them. But sometimes, mainly with the motion picture industry, His requests are denied. On those occasions, however, it is not the end of the adventure. No, no.

It is only the beginning.

If He is not invited to an event He wishes to be invited to, He simply invites Himself. Of course, He will not disclose the methods He uses to stage His invasions of these events, as A) He doesnÕt want all people out there trying to copy Him thus ruining His master plan and B) most people are either too stupid or lack the testicular fortitude to pull off the types of scams Prince of Darkness does. (side note - props to the few He has seen who have imitated Him and are beating the system, you know who you are)

An example of such capers are a couple of recent movie premieres. The new James Bond flick and ÓEnd Of DaysÓ were both conquered. Both the movie and the post party were the latest notches in His belt, joining such esteemed company as multiple MTV Movie Awards, KROQ Weenie Roasts, Blockbuster Awards, the list is endless.

So enough of His babbling, here are some pictures of the ÓEnd Of DaysÓ shenanigans P of D snapped.

BACK TO MUSIC: KORN freaks will be happy to hear that Feb. 29 at the Anaheim Pond is the date for the Issues tour to roll into SoCal. No opening acts are confirmed.

STATIC-X and POWERMAN 5000 will play (and sell out) the Palace the first week of February so save your ca$h.

AMEN have split with Roadrunner due to what can best be described as fucked up shit. Apparently Roadrunner pulled support for their European tour less than 2 weeks before it started. Ugly. Not only that Ross Robinson has severed his ties with the label as well.

20 DEAD FLOWER CHILDREN are back, even though they never went away. After changing their name to DedEx, they have come to their senses and are once again 20 Dead probably avoiding a lawsuit by Federal Express in the process.

ThatÕs all for now. Until next time....FEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
