FIGHT FOR TRADEMARK RIGHTS

A printable updated color flyer/poster is located Here

This Benefit will raise money for legal costs associated with Rock City defending it's legal trademark name from an infringing company called "rockcity.com" on the Sunset Strip. Rock City has had legal rights to the name since 1988, and has been supporting the L.A. rock scene since 1983, as well as on the internet since 1996. Rock City has been trying to obtain the name rockcity.com since 1997, but a
new corporation with deep pockets bought the name. The battle is ongoing. This is a case of concern to small businesses everywhere, as well as all L.A. musicians and anyone who's name has been taken on the internet. Can a big corporation, with an expensive legal team, take the trademark rights away from a small historical music publication such as Rock City? More information on this legal battle is on our website, http://www.rockcitynews.com.

The benefit show is as follows:

Doors open at 8:00 PM, opening band TBA.
9:00 BRAZEN, formerly under a different name, this famous valley metal band really rocks. They don't just play those guitars, they set them on fire!

9:45 EXPLOITING EVE, winner of Best Alternative Band, Rock City Awards 2000 and recently on the cover of Rock City News, they're a very fun professional group with a singer named Jenelle that has a smile and style that will steal your heart.

10:30 POWDER, L.A.'s hottest new band and most recent Rock City cover story! Their last 2 shows have been sold out with lines around the block. The industry is out in force. The singer, Ninette, puts on the best stage show we've seen in years, with costumes and special effects to boot. She looks like Marilyn Monroe or Carol Channing, and she has a body to die for. She's a show biz girl that got mixed up with some hardcore rockers. Check out the pictures on the rockcitynews.com website.

11:15 SLIPPERY LIP, Headlining, and winner of Best Hard Rock Band, Rock City Awards 2000, featuring the talented singer and frontperson, Stacey, who will mesmerize you with her style as the hard and heavy rock groove blows you through the roof. This is one of L.A.'s biggest drawing local acts, and Paladino's is their home turf, so look for a great show here!

12:00 NEKTARE, Winner Best New Band, Rock City Awards 2000, a psychedelic rock band fronted and created by Naomi Nektare. Let her tantalize you with her haunting melodies as she gyrates with serpentine fire in her bellbottoms and beads. Let the hypnotizing lights and floating colors take you to another dimension. This band will rock you with their wild exotic finale. We save the best for last, come on out and taste the Nektare.

12:45 TOE HEAD, one of L.A.'s newest up and coming bands, with a great sound and biting lyrical content, will close the show. They are not female fronted, but the singer is really good, so stick around, you won't be let down.

Tickets are on sale now for only $10.00. This fund raiser for legal costs could be sold out early! Get your tickets now by contacting Rock City News 323-461-6600. If you have any more questions or need more information you can contact Debi @ (818) 768-6398
