Beach Information
Special Comments: Rose Ave. is where the Venice Boardwalk begins. It is an ideal beach for skating or biking on the path, or just relaxing and people watching. The Venice Boardwalk has recently been renovated. There is a wider walkway, better lighting and better bike path that goes around the Venice boardwalk. The Boardwalk (Ocean Front Walk) draws locals and tourists from around the world. Everything from having your picture taken with a giant Python around your neck, to getting your fortune told, can happen on the Venice Boardwalk.

If you like musicians, artists, stand up comedians, drum circles, fake and real tattoo parlours, and an overload of stimuli, than come visit Venice Beach. It can be so crowded on the weekend you can hardly walk. During the week crowds are minimal and there is plenty of space.

Rose Ave. has a nice playground surrounded by palm trees. The sand beach is long and wide so there is plenty of room for everybody. The bike path goes both directions for miles. You can rent Bikes, Skates, and even Boogie boards. There are some surf shops that will rent surfboards on Main Street in Santa Monica and Pacific Ave in Venice. Dogs must be on leash at all times and from Memorial Day to Labor Day dogs are prohibited on the Venice Boardwalk from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sat., Sun, and holidays.

Food/dining: Snack bars and restaurants are located on the boardwalk.
Restrooms: There are brand new yellow and blue restrooms located north of the playground.
