RCN: Hello, we are here with_The Dichotomy_________ a local band from __Santa Monica_______ , and they're __rockin'_____ , so we're going to find out a little more about what makes them tick. . .

1. RCN: What type of band are you?

Very tight, extremely musical rock band.

2. RCN: Tell us the brief history of your band.

We started out as friends in Santa Monica involved in various musical situations. Once formed, we rehearsed for a few months and played our first show at 14 Below on a Saturday night in 2002. Since then we've parted ways with the original bass player, got a new one and started playing bigger venues. We just played The El Rey,twice, Key Club, and we're currently working on our first studio album -- out this summer. CD realease party to follow, soon!

3. RCN: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

Musical --Led Zeppelin, Nickelback, Steely Dan, Tool, Matchbox 20, Aerosmith, Dixie Dregs, Toto......and all sorts of newer rock groups. Non musical? Is there anything else?

4. RCN: What are your dreams and goals?

Spread the music to large audiences, tour, record, have fun and party on. Money, fame, whatever...

5. RCN: Who writes the songs, what are they about?

The singer, rhythm guitar player, Tim Battig. Only he really knows what they are about!

6. RCN: What's your opinion of George Bush?

Kepp him.

7. RCN: How do you promote your band and shows?

Word of mouth, email list, website, local papers.

8. RCN: Describe your show, visual and musically

A rockin' rollercoaster....very tightly woven music. Varies from all out rock to slow, melodic grooves. Something for everyone!

9. RCN: What do you think about downloading music online?

I'm all for it.

10. RCN: What's your outlook on the record industry today?

Rough times. Hopefully pulling itself together.

11. RCN: What's your claim to fame?

The music is actually VERY good. No hype and attitude, just straight up good rock and roll.

12. RCN: Tell us a story about a day in your life.

Wake up whenever.....eat, play in the studio. Hang out doing whatever comes up. Go to work early evening for a few hours. Go out and watch bands at whatever venue is happening that night.

13. RCN: What inspires you to do what you do?

Love of all music.

14. RCN: What advice would you give to fellow bands?

Get out and check other bands out and use the good AND the bad as examples of what to do or not. Both musically and stage wise.

15. RCN: What are some of your pet peeves?

People who are late to anything...undeserving attitude...anything fake.

16. RCN: How does music affect you and the world around you?

Without music, m y life would make no sense. It is around me continually from the time I awake until I go to sleep......everyday!

17. RCN: What's new in the recording of your music?

We are in the studio presently, working on our first full length, self produced album.

18. RCN: What are the biggest obstacles for bands?

Over saturation of bands in the area. Everything tends to be similar.

19. RCN: What's the best and worst thing about playing clubs?

Worst ...Setting up with too many bands in the same night, preselling tickets, self promoting. Best...getting to rock the crowd, playing good music, giving people a reason to get out and check out OTHER bands also.

20. RCN: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.

Our next shows are going to be to promote our new album...you need to check us out at the local venues before we BLOW UP! You can say you saw us way back when. Believe me, you will dig the music...

RCN: Thank you for your insight and time. We'll look forward to hearing your music and seeing your next live show . . . Later gator.
