 Beach Information

Special Comments:
As you proceed north from Encinitas Boulevard on Neptune Avenue, you encounter Stonesteps, the first of the three lovely beaches in Leucadia, one of the communities in the city of Encinitas.

The steep-stair access to the small sand beach below is an adventure in itself and you might want to consider your physical conditioning before you make the trek. Check the tide tables before you go as Stonesteps can be under water at high tide.

The next beach moving north is Beacons. Thanks to a recent sand replenishment project, a whole new beach was created, complete with a lifeguard tower at the foot of the steep sand access from the small parking lot. Street parking is also available. Beacons is the newest best-kept secret among North County beaches!

Grandview is Leucadia's northern-most beach and borders South Carlsbad State Beach. The beach is a mixture of sand and rock reef, making Grandview great for surfers and swimmers of all levels. There is a lifeguard tower at the foot of the stair access and parking is free in a small lot and along nearby streets.

Food/dining:
There are no dining establishments immediately accessible from the Leucadia beaches but a short drive out to Highway 101 will get you to many excellent restaurants, markets and shops.

Restrooms:
There are no public facilities at Leucadia beaches.
