Wow! Foxy Roxx hit the stage to a packed house on July 12th. It was great to see that everyone who was anyone showed up for this epic event!
Foxy Roxx started their set with ÒMixed up worldÓ followed by my favorite song, ÒEverybody wantsÓ. The band consists of Tony Starlin (vocals), Jerry Vayne (guitar), Bobby Soxx (bass), and Robby Tripp (drums). For anyone who hasnÕt witnessed this band yet, youÕre missinÕ out because they are a band you must see to believe!! Foxy Roxx have so much energy, that the audience felt it too. ÒGood time rock and rollÓ was next followed by ÒSaturday nightÓ, and ÒWho killed MTVÓ (a hint, donÕt ya think), and ÒHanginÕ outÓ (which is what everyone did after the show). Robby is one of the best drummers on the scene today, and it shows when you see him kick ass on stage. He even attributed some background vocals. ÒAnything for youÓ was next. Other stand outs were ÒRock and rollÓ and a cover of ÒI donÕt wanna be a homosexualÓ, which made the crowd go wild! Check Ôem out, they rock!
Ambush hit the stage next. Their music was different than the other bands on the bill, due to the fact that they are a metal band but I think they gained some new fans. Some of the song titles were ÒAnyway you want itÓ, ÒOn your kneesÓ, and ÒVoicesÓ.
Guttersluts were next. They started their set with ÒThe kids are hereÓ, followed by ÒOn with the showÓ. Jonnie strutted across the stage as they went into ÒKiss thisÓ. The most promising player in the band is the drummer, Ricki. The band is Jonnie McKayne (vocals), Randee (guitar), Frank (bass), and Ricki (drums).
TheyÕre back! The long awaited return of HollywoodÕs Pretty Boy Floyd. The Roxy was so packed when they hit the stage that it seemed like no one could breathe! The new line-up consists of original singer Steve ÒSexÓ Summers, original drum god Kari ÒThe MouthÓ Kane, and new members Billy on guitar, Jason on bass, and Keri Kelli on guitar. Some of you might remember Keri Kelli from Big Bang Babies. I am a die hard fan of old PBF, but I loved it!! They started their set with an appropriate song called ÒSaturday nightÓ (off of their new demo), and went into such crowd favorites as ÒRock and roll(is gonna set the nite on fire)Ó. ÒGood girl gone badÓ (also off of their new demo) was next on the list. When they played ÒI wanna be with youÓ everyone screamed! This song was always one of my favorite PBF songs! Steve was all over the stage in everyoneÕs face wanting everybody to sing along. Steve was a little drunk but he did a great show nevertheless. The stage was slippery, so itÕs good no one got hurt. PBFÕs new look took everybody by surprise (SteveÕs the only one with long hair), and all the other members were wearing ties. I loved it! The other song titles were ÒDo ya wanna rockÓ, Ò48 HoursÓ, ÒSheÕs not coming homeÓ, their anthem ÒLeather boyz with electric toyzÓ, ÒOnly the youngÓ, ÒEverybody needs a heroÓ (an old Big Band Babies tune), old fave. ÒYour mama wonÕt knowÓ then went into their last song ÒCalifornia GirlÓ. DonÕt miss the next Pretty Boy Floyd explosion on Saturday, September 27 at the Roxy with RevlÕon Red. It looks like with the return of Pretty Boy Floyd, the scene is getting better, which is what Hollywood needs!
Suicide Alley was next. They started their set with ÒSay your prayerÓ, followed by ÒSlam bamÓ, ÒAction tonightÓ and my favorite song, ÒPlease donÕt goÓ. Killer background vocals by Ashlyn (guitar) and Mick (bass). Singe (vocals) and Seann (drums) round out this four piece. ÒNothing to loseÓ, ÒFade awayÓ, ÒDown n dirtyÓ and ÒWho said life was fairÓ were also on the bill. Their hotline number is (213) 637-8970. Check em out! See ya in the clubs - Stay Glam Be Cool!
