FOXY ROXX
REACTOR
AMBUSH
SUICIDE ALLEY
at The Coconut Teaszer

By Lisa J. Kelly

I know I've said this a lot lately, but THIS was a killer show!!!
It was my first time seeing REACTOR, but it sure as Hell won't be my last...they're a top-notch metal band, and the mid-set "Green Light" (as well as their other offerings) have me hooked and I can't wait to go back for another helping!
FOXY ROXX hit the stage swathed in Reynolds' Wrap and lipstick, ready to go crazy and take all of us with 'em. Their superb set went on without a hitch, and included "Outrageous," "Who Killed MTV," and a new sure-hit, a party-your butt-off tune called "Whisky A Go-Go, plus their infamous swan song "Time To Go." Their new CD, "Mixed Up World," should be out in the next couple of months, so keep your eyes and ears open!
AMBUSH...need I say more? O.K., I will!!! Steve, Billy, Dr. Shock and Spike (who I'll miss like a maniac when he leaves!) kicked off the show with their CD's title track "King Of The Dogs!" Then great songs like the nightmare-inducing (but ENCHANTING) "Voices," and a new one that I really dig, called "Save Me." I'm not sure if it was a set-list typo or just a matter of time constraints, but my favorite, "2013," wasn't played this time around. But my other passion, On Your Knees," was, and it took on a whole new meaning or me, being the first time I've herd it while drunk! Don't miss Ambush at the Roxy on September 27th (with Revl'on Red, Pretty Boy Floyd and other great bands) 'cause it'll be Spike's last show, new axe-slinger Tony Rodd step in after that!
Then SUICIDE ALLEY took the stage and showed Hollywood what rock and roll really is! The highlights of their set included "Slam Bam Baby," "Nothing To Lose," and my personal favorite, "Long Way From Home," just to name a few. But every second nearly put me in the Intensive Care Unit!!! Hey, I warned you, it was a GREAT show!!!
My apologies to Youth Gone Wild for missing them, but I'll try to catch the next show! Later...
