DENNIS' FAREWELL PARTY
CHOKING GHOST
SNAKE LIKE CHARM
at Mancini's

By Blue Angel

Blue Angel set out to Dennis' Farewell Party at Mancini's. As I was shmoozing I found myself dancing to the music playing in the background. I had never seen CHOKING GHOST perform, little did I know what I'd been missing. So there I was front and center, completely intrigued by these guys. These boys are extremely talented, they are a 3 piece band, and vocals are shared by the bass and guitar player. I was really struck by their energy and showmanship. Now you have to understand you need to have these qualities in order to catch Blue Angel's attention. Choking Ghost have a huge following and it's no wonder, they give a great performance, and the songs are all good.
I also had the opportunity to see SNAKE LIKE CHARM. "The Truth" was one of my favorite tunes. The words alone said it all for me, "I'd like to know what's in your head, why can't we stop these games and get the truth instead..." talk about eerie! I could relate all too well. Snake Like Charm also entertained us with their renditions of Cheap Trick's "I Want You To Want Me" and Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady." Lead singer, Sud, insisted I sing along to Cheap Trick's tune, talk about catching me off guard! These guys have extreme talent and I was impressed with Eric's fine guitar playing...boy knows how to ROCK! They have a second CD out and I recommend you get your hands on a copy. Don't forget to check your listings for their next gig, I'm sure I'll be there! Blue Angel is always watching, even when you think I'm not!...so behave.
